A lot of people like to spring clean their lives at the beginning of the year, with this comes financial decisions on insurance, what to add and some make a very expensive mistake of cancelling their insurance.
New beginnings and resolutions, you are wiser, get your insurance policies in order.
The New Year is also an ideal time to review your policy details and ensure that these are correct. Notify your insurer of any changes and additions. There may have been changes in your circumstances over the past year that may warrant updating the details on your policy. For example, if you have purchased a new home (change of home address), we would need to know to ensure that you are properly covered.
Some things to consider:
Your number or email address might have changed, your insurer needs to know of these changes, so they are able to contact you and get hold of you.
If you move addresses, even if the address where the car is parked changes, the insurer needs to be alerted.
Car regular driver changes
If the regular driver of the car changes, please let the insurer know, that way the policy can be amended, and you can have the correct cover for the car.
Read your policy documents, know what you are covered for and the amounts and limits. You don’t want to run the risk of finding out at claim stage that some things are not part of your cover.
